order to improve service delivery to the community through
coordination of programs and staff. This realignment and
transfer of functions and responsibilities is effective as of
January 1, 2010. The former Community Development and Housing

Come Home to Glendale
Glendale's neighborhoods have developed their own character throughout the years, stemming from a
rich historical heritage. Members from the Committee for a Clean & Beautiful Glendale (CCBG) and
staff, utilized historical information from long-time residents and the Glendale Historical Society
to identify 33 distinct neighborhoods throughout the city. The brochure "Come Home to Glendale"
offers a snapshot of each of these neighborhoods. A "Come Home to Glendale" map has also been
created as a wonderful accompaniment to the brochure. It is the first official City map and is also
the first Glendale map that depicts the city in its entirety, on one page, best illustrating the
unique characteristics of Glendale in relation to its surrounding communities.
