Code ComplianceNeighborhood Services > Code ComplianceThe City of Glendale through the Glendale Municipal Code (GMC) requires that minimum standards be maintained related to the health, safety and welfare of community residents. Certified code inspectors regularly visit Glendale’s commercial and residential neighborhoods to investigate violations such as:
For more details see the Code Standards Brochure. If violations are found, the property owner will receive a notice identifying those violations and an
appropriate time schedule to make repairs. The City also offers low-interest
rehabilitation loans
to qualified applicants to assist with payment for required repairs. Maintaining the quality of all housing is an important responsibility of Neighborhood Services. To that
end, all rental-housing units are inspected triennially to be sure that they meet minimal standards
of habitability. These minimum standards are uniform throughout the state. Glendale’s Certification
program is designed to educate tenants and seek the cooperative response from property owners to keep
all of our housing units in good repair. Rental property owners receive advance notice of these
scheduled inspections and an adequate time schedule for making any needed repairs. Neighborhood Services has several brochures that outline the City’s code requirements. To receive copies, place call (818) 548-3700. Code enforcement cases that have been resolved Submit an online service request
