Recruits Train at Chevron Refinery
At their El Segundo refinery, the Chevron Fire Department regularly holds training sessions and drills for local fire departments to assist in reinforcing fire and environmental safety procedures. One of the final training drills of the recently completed tri-city firefighter academy was held at that location. Firefighter recruits from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena had an invaluable opportunity to learn about fighting fuel-driven fires, pushing heat away to reach the source of a fuel leak and turn it off, advancing a hose together as a group, and how foams are used to suppress flammable liquids.
