ARC Project Status

The prime contract for construction of the new Adult Recreation Center (ARC) was awarded to George C. Hopkins Construction Inc. in April 2009. Work on the project commenced shortly after award of the contract.

Schedule
The project contract calls for an 18 month construction period which included time for relocation of existing operations into temporary on site structures. The project work will be done in phases to allow the continuation of senior services on the site.

The first phase of the project includes demolition, site grading, and construction of the new 19,100 square foot ARC building with parking, patio, and landscape improvements. The second phase will involve the demolition of remaining structures and landscape improvements located on the westerly portion of the site.

The project is currently on schedule and will be completed in October 2010.

Project Budget
The construction budget for the project is approximately $7.9 million dollars, including contingency funding.
